本书从基础医学到临床实践对眼红斑痤疮疾病进行全面系统地阐述。全书共11章，前两章阐述本病的流行病学、预防和病因学以及皮肤及眼红斑痤疮的病理生理和临床表现。第3章叙述眼病的辩证论治及中医内治疗法。第4章到第10章分别叙述睑皮炎及睑腺疾病，睑板腺功能障碍、干眼、结膜、角膜、巩膜乃至眼内组织损害。第11章也是最后一章介绍至今了解甚少的儿童眼红斑痤疮。书中列举了临床实例进一步证实眼红斑痤疮疾病的常见性和一系列表现，指出确诊的依据。本书是眼科医生从事医教研工作必备用书，亦可供皮肤科、病理科、儿科以及中西医结合方面的参考；还可作为家庭、个人养生保健之用。书中内容大部分为著者临床研究经验总结，多为国内首次发表和报道。一部分为国际首次发现和确定，如结膜下出血、炎性及非炎性血管增生和纽结、并发性白内障以及泪腺封闭疗法等。
