中西医结合医学是我国独创的一门新兴医学学科，它充分吸收中、西两种医学的特长，并使之相互沟通、相互补充、相互促进、相互融合，对继承发展中医药学，促进医学进步具有重要意义。本书以中西医结合医学近两年的整体发展为重点，总结学科建设中取得的突出成绩、学术研究中取得的最新成果与进展，比较国内外结合医学的发展情况和差异，从而进一步明确本学科的研究方向与战略需求，对学科未来的发展方向进行科学预测，以促进中西医结合医学的稳步发展。
